<> Basic <>
Character Name: Jin Kazuya
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Birthday: November 11th
Birthplace: Heguri
Faction: Toyotomi
Year: Third
School Clubs: Bugei, Kendo, Martial Arts
Weapon: Nodachi
<> Look <>
Hair: black
Eyes: Blue
Build: Athletic
Voice: A bit deep, stern.
Height: 6'
Weight: 185 lbs
Clothing/appearance: Handy Reference Image, first of all. He is, generally speaking, one who is alright with uniform or looking right, but not obsessively so. If there is one thing that should make him recognizable, it is his actions, not his clothes. Sensible clothes, not clothes to show off.
Inventory/accessories: Cellphone, wallet, keys - the usual suspects.
<> Self <>
Personality: A fellow of certain morals and principles. You believe in a cause and you follow it through. You make a promise that does not break. If the going gets tough, you have to tough it out and break on through. Thus, Jin is a one of strength and resolve, as well as more than a little gifted in clever tactics. He lets his actions speak for themselves, for there is nothing more fair and just than being able to change the course of events with one's own hands. Not that he is against diplomacy, mind you. It's just not his greatest forte'. He knows there are better people with subtler language and allows them to get on with it, should his own fall short. He is a strong leader-type, though, one who will approach a situation courageously and never back down, save for certain notions of common sense. A little foolhardiness is implied, but most of his sort have a bit of that. He can be funny and enjoy himself immensely, but if you are in his disapproval...beware!
Likes: A good fight, a worthy cause, and dango
Dislikes: Cowardice, dirty tactics, and cabbage
Ambitions/Goals: Though he is a leader and a smart fellow, he is not what one would call the ruling sort. There are those who lead people and those who guide nations. Jin is the former in that analogy, and so his ambitions lay in finding a worthy cause to put himself to good use in, to be an asset and to serve towards someone he might admire the customs of. More than that, as a fighter, it is also his desire to find warriors and tacticians worthy of him. This would be his iddea of a good day.
Habits/Mannerisms: Well, for one, he has certain ideals that he will not break. He will not go a coward's way on anything. If it seems like a person will not face the consequences of his actions or live up to a standard he must not shirk away from, he is displeased. He is also in the habit of practicing and training himself and his moves in a state of constant preparedness that might be considered obsessive. He also does not appreciate being interrupted during meals.
Strengths: Tactically Gifted, Skilled in Armed/Unarmed Combat, Courageous
Weaknesses: Strict In Standards, Angered By Cowardice, Firearms

Samurai Name: Sakon Shima
Clan: Toyotomi
History: After Nobunaga's death at Honnoji, Mitsuhide requests for the Tsutsui clan to aid him at Yamazaki. Sakon, a former Takeda general who resided with the Tsutsui at the time, convinces his master to instead side with the more capable Hideyoshi. During the conflict, Mitsunari and Sakon keep track of the other's promise of talent. Hideyoshi becomes the land's de facto leader after he defeats other Oda generals. By this time, Sakon was angered by his lord and wandered the land for indulgence. Mitsunari finds him and, once the younger man states that he wants his services as his equal, Sakon agrees to serve him. He aids the land's unification by suppressing Kyushu and by partaking in the western siege at Odawara Castle. Hideyoshi soon dies and the land is split between factions led by Mitsunari and Ieyasu. Facing Ieyasu's vast army, Sakon requests permission for an ambush to stunt the enemy march and traps select portions of the Eastern army at Kusegawa. Although Tadakatsu appears with a relief force, Sakon and the Western army retain their cool and cut back some of the Eastern army's drive. Mitsunari moves to Sekigahara, and although Sakon rationalizes that Mitsunari's plan won't succeed, he nevertheless fights by his lord's side. After their victory over Ieyasu, Sakon replies that he doesn't care about a reward as he just wanted to serve a virtuous lord.
Sacred Item: Senshin Nodachi - A fairly-ornate and well-maintained Japanese field sword meant for leaders.
Activate Ability 1: Kuuhaku Nami (Vacuum Wave) - That sheer cut, that incredibly-swift attack of the blade that sheers off whatever it slices through, parting even water or air for a few precious seconds. Only a master of the sword, with great strength and technique, could so-finely divide whatever crosses in front of the blade. This move barely escapes the range of the Nodachi.
Activate Ability 2: Shippuu Kurasshu (Gale Crash) - Taking the wave to a higher level, a massive air-slashing strike cuts deeper than before, scarring land or crashing right through whatever is in its way head on...while either side of the attack blasts wind away from it, forcing back all who stand nearby. This strike projects until hitting a significant obstacle, such as the ground or a building. The wind force is essentially a shockwave that can peter out at about one-third the distance of the projected slash.
Activate Ability 2.5:Nehan Dageki (Nirvana Strike) - The warrior who is great with a sword, in full control of himself, utterly focused...may find himself able to slice keenly and swiftly multiple times in rapid succession at a singular target, rending it asunder before him. This is a technique which has been trained to be used with numerous weapons or even by the bare fist, but Jin learned it through the use of a sword, so a sword technique it remains.
Activate Ability 3: Yama Ken (Mountain Blade) - Strength and force, technique and quick delivery, all combines to create a great singular force of attack. On any person or object, this power of it might spell obliteration, but more interesting is the effect it has on the landscape. Striking or slashing the ground, a certain range or area of the ground is disrupted, cracked apart and forced upward by layers, an exertion of power over the land as stone spikes erupt in irregular patterns. A downward slash will produce a long grouping of spikes that will continue for at least 50 yards. A slash across the ground produces a wider wave area that pushes out for less of a distance, but could cover more enemies at once, especially if a 360-degree slash is performed.
Passive 1: Hayai Denka (Swift Charge) - Put simply, a warrior's charge will be much faster on the attack than in retreat. Cowards do not leave the battle before it is done. Into battle he goes, his movements a blur so long as he does them fighting.
Passive 2: Kaisen Joukei (Battle Sight) - That awareness a combatant has for his surroundings, noting mentally that they are there and knowing through a combination of all senses where they are going, if they are attacking or inching away, having the keen sense of timing to know when to strike backwards while a dangerous opponent is in front. It does not make him psychic. It means that he is paying attention to information that exists.
Overburst Color: Red like blood and battle and anger combined.
Overburst Attack: Tenrai Kantai (Divine Armada) - What is a leader without his army? A leader still and a fighter of men, but having an army still proves entirely useful. Upon activating this power, a great charge of many samurai will begin nearby. None will attack or trample him by accident, for they are his men and loyal to the death...or past so. The army of Sakon Shima returns from the dead for one great charge at the enemy, from a direction of Jin's choosing, who will then disappear once the charge is over. In that time, it is possible to overwhelm the enemy, or break their defenses, or cause a great widespread panic and damage, or something. They are a tide of men who will either be effective or not. He must decide how it is done, to use his keen sense of tactics, to make it worthwhile.
<> Background <>
Support: Hiro and Kaori Kazuya (Parents), Kei and Aoi Harami (Friends), Omato-san (Owner of Shima Courier Services)
History: It was always a strange thing with Jin...
Here he was, a bold and decisive young man with passion and certainly moxie, but he was never one to use it to a great advantage unless he needed to. Given the state of things, he could've browbeat and pushed down people in his life like a hoolligan, and he ceertainly had the power to do so, but he didn't. A very fair person, this guy, unless you deserved it. Well...he had SOME mercy, but he'd put the fear into you if you were on his bad side too. When he was born, his parents held a rather humble existence, which was fine, but they could tell that their son was one of those "I need more in my life" kind of people, and attempted to accommodate him. This was never easy. Oh, he wasn't finicky or a big complainer, but you could easily see that he still yearned for more, and that made them feel guilty. Fortunately, with his sort of attitude, he was entirely helpful around the house and instrumental in allowing the folks to save up so that he could find his place in the world. They had heard, oddly enough, good things about Osaka, and something inside Jin tended to agree...
When he got there, he naturally settled in and started looking for a job. After some looking around, one of the places that seemed to look promising was the Shima Courier Services, in which a middle-aged funny-but-tough kind of guy stood behind a counter, looking generally bored. Work was light right now, but he expected it to pick up, so he was considering help if the help was good enough. Jin looked the part. He looked like he could get things from Point A to Point B in a good amount of time, no dishonesty. The boss, Omato-san, pointed out that he would have to really work hard, though, because their #1 courier, Kei Harami, set the standard and she liked things done fast. Kei was a motorcyclist, as he soon found out while working (Jin could drive, so it all worked out.), and they soon became friendly rivals. However, some weeks later...there was a moment of something strange. He had been given a long box to deliver to a museum, when just as he left to get to his car, a boy on a green cycle snatched the thing right out of his hands!
Jin hadn't been paying attention because something about the box and its contents seemed to scream that it was vitally important to him somehow. So, as per this being his job on the line, he persued the cyclist into a rougher part of town, never losing him because of his work with Kei. He found himself at a warehouse that the boy had busted into and pursued him inside. There, he stood facing the thief with...a Nodachi in his hands! He wasn't the type who would carry one, really, but he saw how tough Jin looked and realized he had a sword to use, so...they were were. However, something...made this very easy for him, like he was being guided. It didn't help that the boy was no martial artist, while he himself practiced. Yes, he was bested and sat on the ground while Jin picked up the sword and...memories flowed into him, shocking him for a moment. He was...a general reborn?
All of this came in so fast that he barely noticed the arrival of the blue motorcycle, same make as the boy's, as KEI stepped in between the two. She explained that the boy was her brother, Aoi, and that while she was an ex-ganger, he was still quite in...though he was technically an out-of-towner and this wasn't his usual territory. She asked him not to harm her brother, and he in turn explained that he couldn't give up the sword, a priceless artifact that he in fact owned. It was a terrible dillemma which Aoi redeemed himself by saying "Dude, I stole it. And if it's yours, you must have it, 'cause you beat me.". He was still concerned over his job, though, given the nature of things, but the box had been unlabeled and kept very secret, and furthermore Kei promised to cover for him by saying she'd tell anyone who asked what lengths he want to in order to recover it. Jin accepted, and these days...the three of them are good friends.
