Leaving the auditorium, and the hustle and bustle of the other students behind her, Mai made her way towards where the dormitories were specified. Along the way, she made note of exactly how large the facility was, and there were simply too many buildings and separate areas for the young girl to go through without them being a distraction. So, she took the less scenic route, which happened to be the stairs leading up and into the dormitory area. It wasn't a long trek, and she had passed by several smaller groups of whom appeared to be second and third years conversing together about the new year's prospect.
Following the conveniently placed signs and arrows strategically placed all around the building, she finally located and now stood in front of a door that had a black plate stamped on, DORM 1 being clear with it's golden inscription. Looking down at the knob of the wooden door, she wondered if the one sharing the room with her had already arrived. Reaching out with a hand, Mai turned the knob and walked in, pushing the door into the room. Looking around briefly, she saw it was a standard room that held two comfortable looking beds on either side, a large oak desk pushed up against a window in the middle, and on further inspection, even a bathroom with shower included. Noting that the bathroom door was slightly ajar, she reached forward and closed it, then turned around and closed the door leading into the room shut tightly behind her before venturing in.
On one of the beds held the parcel previously mentioned by the teacher, the contents of which Mai already had a idea of. Drifting silently over to her bed, which was on the left side of the room, she gently sat herself down and pulled the brown parcel into her lap. Undoing the strings binding the package together, she pulled open the paper folds and revealed a silky black, white cross decorated dress front. On top of it, was a silver cross necklace, it's sapphire shone beautifully as the light in the room hit it. This, she promptly picked up and wrapped around her right arm's wrist. Holding it up to the light, she examined it closer as it dangled in the air. It was beautiful in craftsmanship, though to all it would appear to be just a simple Christian cross with a little bit of embellishment.
Pulling herself away from staring too long at her sacred item, she looked down at the dress she had been forbidden to wear. Sliding her hand across the tenderly soft fabric one last time, she re-wrapped the parcel, tied the strings back together and slid open one of the many drawers that slid out from under the bed's frame. Gently dropping it in, she pushed it back in with the back of her foot and looked around the room once more. This would be her place of residence for a very long time, Mai looked forward to her time here. Done thinking to herself, she pulled herself fully onto the bed and folded her legs together, leaning her back against the wall.
Her eyes lingered on the small hallway that linked the door and room together, silently watching it.

Tenshi had been here for a year already and in that time found a very fast way to return to her dorm room from the rest of the school hence how she was standing inside the bathroom its door slightly ajar. She wasn't really doing anything meaningful as all she really was doing was staring at herself in the mirror thinking in the silence and dark of the room unbeknown to her this year Tenshi would be receiving a roommate so when she heard somebody else enter the room and shutting the bathroom door it caught her off guard causing her to gasp suddenly from the shock and surprise.
Why did she have to have a roommate this year?! Couldn't she have had one like the last year? Tenshi let out a sigh of annoyance along with a disapproving groan as she opened the bathroom door slightly and looked out the gap between the door and its frame to spy the sight of a white haired girl sitting down on one of the beds, speaking of which didn't that bed have a package on it before hand? Yes it did which was now in the hands of this girl. Tenshi watched as the girl removed a Christian cross from it and held it up, the cross shined beautifully in the light that was coming in from the window. Tenshi thought to herself about why this girl would have a Christian cross? It as not a common religion in this country but on the other hand it was not entirely impossible that she was a believer of the Christian faith.
Tenshi opened the bathroom door fully and walked out her parasol raised to protect her from the sunlight that filtered in through the window. Frustratingly the school had refused to have the curtains in her dorm room changed to black out curtains despite her having an accurate medical reason for it. "Umm... he-hello.... haiu...." Tenshi said hello shyly in her mouse like voice; she was completely and utterly terrified of her supposedly new roommate, what if she would pick on her? What if she was a mean person that would fill the dorm room with sunlight? Thousands of different what if situations ran through her head and it only served to make her more and more paranoid of the white haired female.

It wasn't long until someone came into view, but Mai was surprised to see what appeared to be a parasol followed up by two legs. Tilting her head in slight confusion, she looked towards the window and then back towards the parasol. Could this be her room-mate? Why does she have a parasol indoors? Is she deathly afraid of light, sunlight in particular? These questions popped up in unison within Mai's head, it wasn't until further examination did Mai notice a female face peeking out from underneath.
Unfolding her legs, she slid off the bed and bowed her head, strands of hair falling forward as she did so. "Hello, my name is Mai, Azami Mai. It is nice to meet you." she replied softly to the timid one. "Are you afraid of the light?" Mai asked, attempting to find out why exactly the parasol existed in the first place. Upon closer inspection, the girl didn't seem that much older then Mai herself, and rather she seemed more afraid of her then Mai was of failing her first year. Without waiting for the girl's reply, Mai turned around and pulled off the blanket from her own bed. Taking off her shoes, she climbed up on top of the desk and pulled the curtains shut with one hand. Then, looping the two ends of the blanket over and through the curtain rod she pulled the other two ends through and folded it again over the curtains themselves.
This, coupled with the extra two layers from the blanket, effectively blocked off all light from coming into the modestly sized room. Darkness. Taking some time to adjust to it, Mai slowly lowered herself off the desk and felt her feet touch the floor. Walking back towards the darkened silhouette of her room-mate, she bowed low, hands folded against her stomach. "Mm .. is this satisfactory?" she said simply, eyes glinting in the darkness as her body straightened up once more. Seeing as she would be spending all of her time with her new companion, Mai felt obliged to make her feel welcome and content with her surroundings.
Though Mai wondered how exactly she would be capable of accomplishing any work in the dark, perhaps a candle or a flashlight could replace it?

Her new roommate introduced herself as Azami Mai, it was a pretty name and very feminine at that as well, so this was her roommate for this year, god damn it.... she had to have a roommate for this year didn't she? Oh well, Tenshi might as well share her name as well, Mai had been polite to her so far after all. "Umm.. my name is Shi Tenshi... just ummm call me Tenshi... haiu..." She informed Mai of her own name using her mouse like squeak of a voice which caused her to blush slightly out of embarrassment, hopefully Mai wouldn't be able to see it as Tenshi was hiding her face beneath the parasol she carried.
What happened next was something that Tenshi found very strange and very different from something a normal person would do in this situation, normal by Tenshi's standards and experiences that is. Tenshi watched in silence and shock as Mai shut the curtains and then used her blanket to cover that very same window which effectively prevented all sunlight from entering the room leaving only pure blackness in its place which made Tenshi happy... she loved being inside the darkness as it made her feel safer from those who might offend her or just plain bully her, if you couldn't been seen then you couldn't be insulted right?
"Umm.. haiu... ye-yes thank you Mai... that is a lot better. Umm... I do not main the rooms ceiling light being turned on though... I dislike it but umm... it won't cause me any harm haiu..." Tenshi was feeling rather insecure about actually explaining her photosensitive skin to Mai but she might have to in order for Mai not to think that Tenshi was simply a weird and very creepy little girl which she was in some aspects but not in all and deep down inside herself Tenshi hoped that Mai would not assume that but not push Tenshi into explaining her light sensitive skin to her.

Through listening to the words spoken, Mai understood that Tenshi was appreciative of her efforts in making the environment more comfortable for her. Turning her head from side to side, her eyes wandered around the darkened room, Mai didn't think it was so bad after a while of adjusting to it. It would take time to get used to though. Shaking her head, she stared directly at the large black circular shape, which Mai understood was Tenshi's parasol, and tilted her head just slightly in an attempt to see underneath. Darkness greeted her.
"Mm .. no, I do not mind the darkness," she said, mouth curling into a small smile. "You are my room-mate, a companion I will be spending the rest of my life here with, I will accommodate you as a younger peer to adapt to your lifestyle."
Perhaps her eyes would eventually become used to the darkness, it was not so bad once Mai considered it was only this room that was dark, and not the outside. Still .. perhaps, at least for work and assignments, she could turn the ceiling light on, else Mai may just answer or scribble nonsense all over the papers. Having estimated where her bed was, Mai returned to it and sat down with a soft 'mm' emanating from her throat. "Please, sit down, Tenshi-san." she asked respectfully, as Mai intended on knowing about her companion, and if Tenshi wished - herself as well. As suich, Mai once again folded her legs back behind her and placed her hands together, fingers idly stroking the cross wrapped around her wrist.

(Kind of pressed for time so this might have to be a short post)
Tenshi lowered her parasol and closed it as she no longer needed it to block out the sunlight thanks to the efforts of Mai. Tenshi was slightly embarrassed when she was asked to sit down by Mai but, it was the least that she should do as a form of payment to Mai"Umm umm.... you're really nice... and o-ok...haiu...." Tenshi was feeling rather nervous and had no idea of where Mai wanted her to sit down for you see, Tenshi assumed that Mai would want her to sit down somewhere but where was unknown and so Tenshi decided to just sit down next to Mai.
Tenshi made herself comfortable and had to admit the beds where actually really soft, made sense though, a school as prestigious as this would have made sure that its students where comfortable and well looked after. Looking over at Mai Tenshi looked at the cross she wore around her neck, even in this lack of light she was still able to make out the general shape of the cross because Tenshi had far better eyesight in the dark than your average person; she did spend a lot of time in it after all, at least when you compared her to a normal human being but this school’s students where nothing if not unusual. The issue of how Tenshi would do her homework never even occurred to her but if the problem did arise then Tenshi could simply turn on the main light, she may not like light but it was only sunlight that triggered her photosensitivity not light bulbs.

With introductions and first impressions finished, Mai had moved on to the next tier of 'getting to know someone'. Though it was a little more awkward then she had first assumed it to be, especially in the dark. Mai had never spoken to someone in the dark before, but she supposed it was worth experiencing just this once. She felt a small weight inch the bed down a few, and realized that Tenshi had taken a seat next to her, Mai had assumed she would sit across on her own bed. Straightening herself up a bit, into a more respectful stance, she turned her head to stare at the parasol-toting, light-sensitive girl named Tenshi.
"Mm .. Mai apologizes, Mai has nothing to serve you with." She suddenly said, out of the blue, noting the loss of tea and snacks. Shifting in her seat, she turned fully to face Tenshi and began her little questions. "Has Tenshi been in Bugei Academy long? Is it .. nice here? Do you have any friends ..? Does having Mai as a room-mate displease you?" She asked, all of those questions in between held five second pauses so that Tenshi could formulate answers for them. This, was an attempt from Mai at making a friend, she tries.

Tenshi was squirming slightly feeling ever more nervous and afraid while time slowly ticked by, she sat there in silence and darkness unsure of what to say next, she had already thanked Mai for her act of kindness beforehand as well as handing out names, experience had not taught Tenshi what else she could do for the purpose of prolonging this conversation.
After a few more moments of sitting in silence Mai launched a barrage of questions at Tenshi. Tenshi had no idea how she should react to this, it was just too much at once for her brain to process so in response Tenshi just squeaked shyly like a little mouse fidgeting on the bed awkwardly. "Uh uh umm... I umm... don't have many friends.. ummm Hai-haiu...." Tenshi was able to stutter out that answer with a great amount of difficulty. Tenshi returned to her silence, fidgeting on the bed trying to formulate an answer that wouldn't make her seem like a complete fool in front of her roommate for this year.
Eventually with another great effort Tenshi squeaked out another answer in her shy mouse like voice"Uh uh umm.. I've been here for about a year.. um ha-haiu..." Tenshi brought up her parasol again hiding her face under it from shyness and insecurity. Tenshi just hoped that Mai was aware of how difficult it was for her to actually answer the questions she posed. The reason why Tenshi hadn't responded to Mai saying there was nothing to serve her with was very simple, she didn't know how to respond, Tenshi didn't even ask to be served with anything and was very confused why Mai even brought it up to begin with.

Mai smiled a rare little smile as Tenshi reacted to her questions with her timid answers and shy nature. Placing a hand on her own mouth, she tilted her head again and reached out with the other hand to gently tap the top of the parasol, her attempt at coaxing Tenshi out. Though, because it was so dark, she wasn't sure where anything was anymore; therefore she hoped Tenshi would forgive her for being incidentally rude. This was Mai's first year after all, and she was doing a very awkward job at getting to know her room-mate.
"Mm, Mai understands. Mai apologizes, this is Mai's first year in Bugei Academy, therefore .." The young girl shifted onto her knee's and bowed her head deeply, resting it on top of her porcelain white hands. "Please forgive Mai's rude behavior, Tenshi-sama." Mai could perceive many things, and at times she would perceive something that wasn't really what she thought it was. At this point, Mai was simply being respectful to her senior. She was such a .. strange girl. She most likely wouldn't get up without being forgiven by Tenshi, her room-mate and senior.

Tenshi squeaked loudly like a little mouse did when set upon by a bird. Someone had touched her parasol! And by someone she must meant Mai as whom else would it be? Unless of course somebody had secretly entered the room... but that couldn't be possible, both of them would have seen the door open as it would have let the light from the hall enter. With a great amount of personal determination and courage Tenshi was able to lower her parasol. "Uh uh umm... I umm... ha-haiu... nevermind...." Tenshi trailed off not wanting to continue the subject she brought up.
Tenshi gasped and began to panic as she saw a dark shape move and then bend down in front of her, at first Tenshi was really afraid of this but after taking a deep breath knowing it was only Mai she calmed down quite a lot. Being called "sama" made her blush though, never before in her life had Tenshi ever been fit of being called sama hence her embarrassment with being called it now, didn't help how Mai was throwing herself at Tenshi's feet asking for forgiveness"Uh umm.. its umm.. okay... haiu...." Tenshi squeaked slightly and fidgeted on the bed. She did understand why Mai was saying sorry but didn't get the extreme length she had gone to in order for to get Tenshi's forgiveness, Tenshi was not the grudge holding type after all.

Sufficiently forgiven, though hard to understand because of Tenshi's timid voice, Mai sat herself up and rested her hands on top of her knee's. Looking around once more at the darkness they were engulfed in, Mai suddenly remembered that this was still her first day in school, which meant her first day of classes would be today. Then again, Tenshi was a second-year, perhaps she would know more. Mai held anyone above her in high regards, especially one enrolled within such a prestigious academic environment.
Sliding her hands forward, Mai half-bent her head and lowered it as she spoke to Tenshi. "Tenshi-sama, as this is Mai's first day in Bugei Academy, would you know how the system works?" she asked, tone kept respectful and soft. It was her first year after all, and not everything of hers had arrived yet, she wasn't sure what to do at this point beyond being told to look for her room and acquaint herself with the room-mate.

Tenshi... did not really know the answer to Mai's question, all she did in regards to that was complete her school work, go to her dorm, do her homework and then relax before eating and resting. She had never really bothered to inquire about how the school worked or what she was even here for at that matter, end of the day so long as she got good grades and didn't go hungry or bored then she was fine, at least in other people’s eyes that was anyway.
Suddenly Tenshi heard her phone from inside its case; her lesson would be starting soon and so she had to go. She stood up and picked her parasol up off the ground opening it over her head in preparation of going outside into daylight."Umm... I have to go to lesson Mai.. so umm.. go-good bye haiu...." she squeaked awkwardly and then left her room using her parasol to protect her from the light, both the sunlight and artificial light generated by the buildings light bulbs. She walked out of the dorm room and headed to her lesson wondering how Mai would do in her lesson.

Mai nodded as Tenshi got up and left, leaving behind her words of luck and hope. Tilting her head, she supposed she should also get ready for the day's classes. Sliding off the bed, she slipped her feet into the shoes waiting for them. Making sure she was sufficiently prepared for the day, and that her shoes were put on properly, she opened up the door to their room and walked out into the light.
The door closed behind her with a dull thud, as Mai's days in Bugei Academy would no doubt be full of trials and hardships.
