As such, he does everything to the best of his ability, and he tends to think little of most people around him. However, he does his best to find value in those people, albeit only to use them for his own personal gain. Many would describe him as a handsome and charismatic man who has charmed most people he's conversed with.
Gou can also be described as possessive. Whether it be a mission, a reward, or even a person, he believes that it belongs to him. As such, he will go to any lengths to get what he wants. Also, unlike kinder people, he's willing to make life a living hell for those that oppose him.
When it comes to conversation, he tends to speak in a confident manner. If he has an opinion, he will not hide it, and he will support it if necessary. As for his relationships, they tend to distant. <> Sacred Item <>
Original Owner: Matsunaga Hisahide
Clan: Miyoshi, Oda
History: A companion of Miyoshi Chokei, he was a retainer of Miyoshi Masanaga from the 1540s. He directed the conquest of the province of Yamato in the 1560s and by 1564 had built a sufficient power-base to be effectively independent. It is believed that he was conspiring against Chokei during this period, from 1561 to 1563 three of Chokei's brothers and his son Yoshioki died. This left Miyoshi Yoshitsugu the adopted heir when Chokei died in 1564, too young to rule. Three men shared his guardianship - Miyoshi Nagayuki, Miyoshi Masayasu, and Iwanari Tomomichi.
Sacred Item: a ring that was regulary worn by Matsunaga during his lifetime
Activate Ability 1: Emperor Eye: Gou glares at his opponent, causing a heavy sensation to envelop their body. As a result, it becomes quite more difficult for them to move, and they are likely to be paralyzed with fear if they make direct eye contact.
Activate Ability 2: Bow Down: Gou causes the force of gravity to increase immensely for all those within close range of him. The strength of the ability is capable of causing leg shaking and even complete kneeling, if the target does not have high strength (basically his soul vs their strength). The more targets targets there are, the weaker the ability becomes.
Activate Ability 3: Power of the Emperor: A red aura radiates from Gou, though it is not nearly as distinct as his overburst. By using this ability, his soul is decreased by 12 points. However, in return, the following stats are increased by 4 points: strength, endurance, and agility. These effects can last up to 4 posts. Once ended, there is a 5 post cooldown before it can be used again.
Passive 1: Emperor's Presence: Similar to his first active ability, his passive makes the people around him, allies included, feel heavier (though not to the same degree), as well as some fear, to some. In use, it causes people to be highly less likely to go against him due to the presence he gives off.
Passive 2: Increases his soul stat by one tier.
Overburst Color: Blood red
Overburst Attack: My World: First off, similar to his second ability, the gravity surrounding the area around Gou becomes incredibly heavy. Next, his energy is used to disable his adversaries' perception. It appear that their surroundings are shaking intensely, the color of objects is shifted from one to another, and sounds become louder and softer at random. Along with this, the target also experiences very intense headaches as well as dizziness. While not doing physical damages, it incapacitates his foes.
<> Background <>
Support:
Katsuo Murata: Gou's father
Kamiko Murata: Gou's mother
History: In this world, there's two groups: the best and the rest. There is no questioning that being the best is the most desirable goal for many across the world. There were two people in particular who emphasized that: Katsuo and Kamiko. They were famous politicians that inhabited Japan, capable of swaying the hearts of its citizens. They were workaholics, to say the least. In their mind, to be less than the best was unacceptable for them. Of course, it was the same for their son, Gou.
Even as a kid, Gou had been raised by distant and authoritative parents. Their relationship could hardly be called parent and child. It would be more accurate to describe it as a business relationship. They gave him goals to accomplish, and he was forced to do so or suffer shame. They taught him that failure was the scariest of things, and it was to be avoided at all costs. "Those who succeed have power, and those who fail are the worthless followers," his parents had said. Even his peers had high expectations for him, due to his parents. With such an upbringing, it makes sense that he dedicates every bit of his time perfecting whatever he does. From his academics to his school clubs, he does not allow failure. Because of his intense focus on perfecting himself, he rarely has the time to relax or hangout with friends. As such, he is distant with many people.
Originally, he had lived in a way to please his parents, by following their orders. However, as anxiety was produced from multiple accounts of nearing failure, his personality was shifted as a result. As a defense mechanism, he had became much more arrogant, confident, and independent than he had been before. With the change, he no longer lived as a perfectionist to please his parents. He no longer saw that as good enough, and he desired to surpass them. He would be the best, and they would be the worthless followers.
By the age of fifteen, his grandfather had passed away. While he was more close to him than his actual parents, it wasn't as if they had a strong bond. Still, the man had left a gift for his grandson: a ring. It had sat in the man's house for ages, and it was considered one of his most valuable possessions. It was only when it came into his possession that he realized what it really was: a sacred item. It seemed like fate, really. Becuase of his age, and the fact that he was their first child, he was to be sent to Edo Bugei Academy, it seemed all too coincidental to receive such a thing at the time. He decided that because it came into his possession, he had no need to divulge such information regarding the item to his parents. Instead, he informed the school upon enrollment.
Gou's growth was extraordinarily fast, to say the least. He had began as a first year in the academy, but his diligence made his growth much more rapid compared to others. Instead of worrying about the troubles that he may have had to face in the future, he focused on doing what he had to do: mastering his sacred item, completing missions, and asserting his dominance to the world. The reason for his fast growth was not because he wanted to become the best; it was because he felt he needed to become the best. He dedicated every second he had to improve himself in any way possible.
During the second half of his first year of enrollment, Gou had been promoted to a second year due to his much more developed skills, especially with his sacred item. Since his time, he had been focused on the politician career path. However, it was during this time that he also took classes related to the warrior and guard career paths. Like with his main focus, he made sure to do as best as possible in those extra classes.
Near the end of his first year, he had been promoted to senior status. While his growth was still exceptional, it was not the only reason for his promotion. With a team, he had successfully located and ceased the smuggling of sacred items among criminals in the area. It had quite a large impact, because there had been a growing number of cases of stolen and improper use of sacred items. With the success of the mission, violence and illegal activity had dropped considerably, which only showed more of his potential to the school authorities.
Now, beginning his second year at Edo Bugei Academy, he is aiming to increase his power and overall influence.
