Character Name: Mihane, Meiyuki
Title Name: Mihane, Meiyuki
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Birthday: December 7th
Birthplace: Hokkaido
Clan: Yagyu
Year: Third
Track: Warrior
School Clubs: None

Hair: Very long, and white (genetic anomaly, caused early loss of hair pigmentation)
Eyes: Ice Blue
Build: Normal
Voice: Light, like the sound of ice
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 133lbs
Casual Clothing/appearance: Meiyuki wears very traditional clothing. Kimonos, and school uniforms mostly. She always tries to wear loose fitting outfits, to not restrict her movements, or at the very least…hamper them less. She tries for blues and whites, as they are her two most favorite colors. Other than that, most would call her garb very plain.
Combat Clothing/appearance: Generally speaking, Meiyuki wears a form fitting shirt and pants, usually a very dark blue. A metal plate is attached over her chest covering from shoulder blades down to her belly button. She wears some gauntlets and bracers, as well as shin guards. She prefers shoes to boots, and wears a sort of black half skirt.
Inventory/accessories: A blue ribbon to tie her hair into a long pony tail. A thermos for all the tea she drinks, and a book of some kind.
Personality: Meiyuki is abrasive, and unsociable at the best of times. At the worst, she’s downright rude, even offensive. As someone who has cultivated a reputation of “untouchable-ness” she is extremely stand-offish. She doesn’t go out of her way to even communicate, and prefers to remain aloof and in the background. Normally this would make someone an outcaste, but her skills in swordsmanship garner her, a heavy amount of respect…if not outright fear. And she has no problem with keeping that.
In private she is partly a broken person. The deaths of her parents have made the girl VERY insular, preferring to stay alone. She finds it difficult, if not impossible, for her to relate to anyone or even attempt to be sociable. This drives many of her peers to believe that she thinks herself superior. To her that word only applies to her swordsmanship. What is even more frustrating is that even her teachers find it difficult to approach her, finding her rather distant to even them.
Meiyuki does not engage in combat lightly, knowing full well that her skills are only good to kill. Her bladework is meant for the battlefield, and more than a few students have been removed from the academy, to maimed to continue at the school. She doesn’t even smile during combat, and generally jumps to ending it as soon as possible, leaving no room for people to try and get the upper hand. This makes her seem even more like a monster.
She does not take side in any sort of clash, mostly cause she is not a part of any faction. In any sort of battle event she is generally deployed as a solo unit. This is not to say she wouldn’t join a side, it’s just that none have ever had the courage to talk to the “Ice Queen.”
Likes:
* Tea (she is a very heavy drinker of it)
* Reading (she reads romance novels, mostly)
* Practicing (you are never too good to keep up the basics)
* Being alone
* Soft music
Dislikes:
* Crowds (can’t stand so many people)
* Loud Music (her hearing is acute…so most music is loud to her)
* Hard drinks (alcohol, and even soda is tossed into this category)
* Chemistry
Ambitions/Goals: Be the best.
Habits/Mannerisms:
* Standing/sitting quietly and merely observing
* Thumbing the hilt of her sword when agitated (generally a good cue to “bug out”)
Strengths:
- Swordsmanship (she is one of the best at the Academy…and probably one of the most dangerous, focusing heavily on Battojutsu)
- Hearing (her hearing is very acute, allowing her to fight, decently, while blinded or otherwise incapable of seeing.)
- Spirit Control (she is quite well bonded to her Sacred Item, allowing herself to push it further and harder)
- Anti Social (this causes a massive rift between her and her peers…leading to few, if any, allies)
- Aggressive (she tends to go straight in, with some of her more deadly abilities)
- Hearing (while a strength, very loud noises tend to hurt her ears, and leaves her a bit stunned)

Original Owner: Yagyu, Jubei
Clan: Yagyu Clan, Tokugawa Shogunate
History: Jubei is best known as one of the greatest swordsmen of all time. Trained by his father Yagyu, Muneyori (who was sword instructor to three of the Tokugawas), Jubei was a master swordsmen. He himself also helped in instruction at least two of the Shoguns. He is by far the most romantiscized swordsmen of the era.
Sacred Item: katana
Activate Ability 1: ダブルアクセル Double Accel
Description: Meiyuki is known for her agility, but with this...she can also ramp up her speed. Using this ability allows her to move so quickly, that it actually leaves an afterimage. This image makes it seem like she is still moving towards them, when in fact she has already moved past them. The attack then, comes from the back and not the predicted front.
Activate Ability 2: ライトニングブレード Lightning Blade
Description: Meiyuki focuses some energy into her sheathed katana. When she draws the sword the blade seems to stretch out creating a long sword swing. The extension adds an additional 10ft to her blade, ripping furrows into the ground or hacking thick trees down with a single swing. (this ability does not add any lightning or electricity to the attacks, it’s name is merely representative of the speed with which is needed to perform the technique)
Activate Ability 3: エンドレス•ボイドの刃 Blade of the Endless Void
Description: A powerful drawing technique. Meiyuki focuses a vast amount of energy into the sheathed katana. When drawn the blade releases in an explosion around her. Creating a sphere with a 10ft radius of cutting death. Many say they see multiple blade arcs, as if many blades were slicing in the sphere. This technique is generally forbidden to be used in school fights, as it always results in fatal injuries, and because it places a very heavy burden on the user.
Passive 1: 考えずにストライク Strike without Thought
Description: Meiyuki is a talented swordsmen, and has acute hearing. She uses these in tandem as a basis to be able to continue fighting even while blinded, or otherwise unable to see…even in the dark.
Passive 2: ドラゴンの目 Dragon's Eye
Description: Meiyuki's hearing is extreme, but while in "combat mode" she focuses intently on her opponent. Her eyes seemingly shift, narrowing into what look like an Ice Dragon's eyes. Her eyesight sharpens by several levels, and minute movements are picked up. This also gives a bit of an intimidation value to her.
OverburstColor: Sapphire Blue
Overburst Power: 天国粉砕ドラゴン Heaven Crushing Dragon
Description: Meiyuki pulls the moisture from the air, and concentrates it and a massive amount of energy. She then swings her sword and a huge dragon made of ice shoots forth from the tip. The dragon can travel up to 100 feet in a straight line, freezing everything in a 10 foot wide path. Water in the direct path evaporates from being so cold, and people on the periphery of the attack can suffer frostbite. Those caught in the path of the attack, tend to never move again.
Support:
Father: Meihane, Oska (dead)
Mother: Meihane, Saiyuri (dead)
Guardian: Yagyu Koichi
History: Meiyuki was born on the northern island of Japan, Hokkaido, just a mile away from it’s capital city of Sapporo. A giggly smiling child, she was well loved by her parents. The days were filled with bliss and comfort, as any child should usually feel. But all good things must come to an end. When she was only six years old, during a nasty storm in winter…they found themselves in a perilous situation.
Far from home they would be attacked by Highwaymen. They shot and killed both her parents, but her mother covered her. They took what little money they had and fled, leaving the little girl to freeze in the cold. However, her mother with her dying life held the girl, keeping her warm. The next day when some travelers happened upon the scene, they found two dead adults and freezing child. Meiyuki had cried herself to sleep that night, and suffered some frostbite. Most notably her back froze to her mother's body, the blood seeping in and around causing extensive scarring across her back.
The while the damage to her skin was mostly superficial scarring, the emotional trauma was enormous. With no where to call home, she became homeless and spent her time in the streets and alleys digging for food. It was a pathetic existence, and one that she would eventually die from. If it not for a samurai who had been visiting. His name was, Yagyu Koichi. He took her in, gave her a home and food. He taught her discipline, taught her the way of the samurai, and how to use a blade. She was a prodigy, having never touched even a bokken...at the age of 8 (three years after her families murder) she had begun catching the eyes of the other Yagyus.
Still...she remained sullen and reserved, even her Guarian had no idea what transpired previously. She wouldn't speak of it, and whenever even he got close...she withdrew into herself. Still she would excel, mostly in her swordsmenship, but in academia as well. Her discipline helped pave her way into all sorts of situations, none of which she really wanted. Her only goal was to attend the Edo Bugei where her Guardian taught. It was a tremendous day when she was accepted, one of the few times Koichi saw her smile.
But life at the Bugei was not everything it was cracked up to be. In her first weeks there, bullies tried to pick on her for being a "teacher's girl". Both were dismissed after having several bones fractured from a bokken that Meiyuki used against them. It didn't help that at that time she was given the sacred item of the Yagyu's clan, Jubei's very own Katana. Her arrogance didn't peak, instead her reputation exploded. "She's dangerous." "A psycho." "Stay away from the Ice Queen...she'll kill you." She paid little mind to the jabberings, but each one cut deeply. With not social skills at all, she had not even a clue on how to handle other people. So insullar and withdrawn that she didn't know how or what would make people like her.
Still, schooling itself was easy. Not that she was a genius, just that her discipline paid out in huge dividends. With no friends to worry about, she also had plenty of time to finish any schoolwork. Then it was off to work on her swordsmenship, which had grown and blossomed. She even began branch out, and started mastering Battojutsu, and combined it with the Yagyu form of swordsmenship.
Now on the third and final year...she hopes that something might change.
